program description
ELEMENTARY AGE (Entering K-5): VBS is open to all children entering Kindergarten through those entering 5th grade. VBS sessions are held Monday-Thursday from 9:00AM-Noon or 12:30–3:30PM. On Friday of VBS week, following the noon Mass (approximately 12:30) parents and children are invited to our “VBS Music and Drama Show” and family picnic. NOTE: Nursery and preschool programs are available for children of full-time volunteers only.
MIDDLE SCHOOL AGE (Entering 6, 7, 8): Middle School VBS is held in the evenings from 6:00-9:00 pm. We begin each session with praise & worship music followed by dinner. This program is teen led and includes games, activities, drama, Bible study, snacks, service projects and lots of music. On Friday, we will be off-site for a special event – adult chaperones are needed!
TRaining & volunteers
There will be a mandatory VBS training night for teen leadership participants. During this event, leaders-in-training will actively experience VBS activities and learn skills to help them lead. The format for VBS is entertaining and active. The week revolves around specific Bible Verses. A large number of adult volunteers are needed to lead groups or facilitate specific activities such as crafts, drama, music and more.
NEW THIS YEAR! Since we have a well developed program for both middle and elementary ages, VBS volunteers will be limited to adults and high school teens. Please note that teen volunteers do not count as adult volunteers. They may not register siblings as part of the early registration process. NOTE: Middle school age volunteers will only be accepted if a parent is also volunteering at the same time.
