St. Peter Chanel’s High School Youth Ministry (grades 9 through 12) offers a wide range of options for teens preparing for Confirmation as well as those Confirmed teens looking to increase their faith, deepen their love for Jesus Christ and learn more about the teachings of the Church. NOTE: In order to be confirmed, BOTH a religious education component (PSR or Catholic School attendance) AND a separate sacrament component must be completed.

9th grade PSR
Traditional PSR sessions are offered for 9th grade on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am and 10:45 am; or Sunday evenings at 6:45 pm. Religious education is a vital component for Confirmation Preparation. To meet the 9th Grade Confirmation requirement, at least 80% of the sessions must be attended. Failure to meet the attendance requirement will require the candidate to repeat this PSR requirement the following year. Contact: Megan Kyle at mkyle@stpeterchanel.org.
10th grade psr
Four separate mini-courses on various topics are offered throughout the year. Tenth graders are required to complete at least one mini-course. Times and topics vary (see the 10th Grade Registration Form). Religious education is a vital component for Confirmation Preparation. To meet the 10th Grade Confirmation requirement, all sessions of at least one mini-course must be attended. confirmation
The Archdiocese has set 10th grade as the year for the Sacrament of Confirmation to be celebrated. In order to be confirmed, youth must be active particpants in foundational religious education which consists of either a parish sponsored religious education program (PSR) or Catholic School attendance. Youth also particpate in formational preparation which is only offered through the parish. Detailed sacrament preparation information can be found on the Confirmation page. fellowship
Fellowship is an optional youth ministry program. All high school teens are welcome to attend Fellowship as long it does not conflict with their regular PSR session time. Fellowship is held on most Sunday evenings following the 5:00 pm Teen Mass. Teens gather in McNamee Hall for pizza and socializing from 6:00-6:45, then participate in the evening’s program from 6:45-8:00 pm. Registration is not necessary to participate in Fellowship; however, a $50 donation to cover food is greatly appreciated Contact: Megan Kyle at mkyle@stpeterchanel.org.
bible study
An optional teen Bible Study is offered on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:15 pm. Topics vary and will be selected based on the group’s preferences. Contact: Megan Kyle at mkyle@stpeterchanel.org.
